"From the west we cry out..."

2 months ago today, I arrived in Cape Town and in these last 60 days or so, God is turning my life completely upside down and inside out! I know that exciting things are happening in Durban and at COGS as well and this just stirs my heart as I know that Jesus is coming back very soon my mates! As today is my day off (sort of) i felt i'd write and encourage you all with a few things that I've been mulling over as I think of you all often...

*The words “I pray”= 6 times by Paul in the epistles.
-prayer and power are linked/ the upper room and the streets are linked!
Acts.10 (Cornelius “prayed regularly”…and then “all of a sudden”)
Revelation.5:8
-how full are your bowls?

*FULLNESS greater than being filled with. (end of Ephesians.1)
-What does a life filled with his FULLNESS look like?

*"Placed all things under his feet" (Eph.1:10)

-"Under his feet"//"military term of complete supremacy and absolute authority over ones enemies"

EVERY place: Josh.1:3, Josh.10:24
-The Israelite armies would draw pictures of the enemy kings under their shoes
and then when they defeated them they placed their feet on the necks of the enemy kings
-brings a new dimension to “you can trample on scorpions” hey.

The Priests & Kings

Hebrews 7: 17 - You are a priest forever in the order of Melchizadek

Melchizawho?

Read Abraham's brief encounter with Melchizadek in Genesis 14 :18

• He was a King

• His name means king of righteousness

• He was king of Salem which means peace

• He had no genealogy, he was a mysterious, timeless, eternal character

• He was also a priest

• He existed before the Levitical priesthood

So what's the connection between Melchizadek and Jesus?

• Jesus is the King

• He is king of righteousness. His blood bought us righteousness.

• He is king of peace. Because of his righteousness, we have peace with God

• He is the eternal King. The first and the last.

• Jesus is also our High priest

• He did not inherit priesthood through the tribe of Levi, He is from a different tribe. He opened up the new priesthood.

Jesus opened up a new family line.
Just as a the son of a king is born into a royal family and becomes an heir to the kingdom, so we who are born of Jesus, are born into his royal family and become heirs of his kingdom.
Likewise, just as a son born into the tribe of Levi would've naturally grown up to follow in his father's footsteps as a priest, so we who are born of Jesus are born into the priesthood.

We are the sons of the High Priest & High King, we are the royal priesthood!

Hebrews 2:11 – Both the one who makes men holy and those who are being made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers.

Jesus has welcomed us into his family and invites us to share in his inheritance.

Galatians 4: 6-7 – Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out “Abba, Father.” So you are no longer a slave but a son, and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir.

Revelation 1: 5 – 6 – To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father – to him be glory and power forever and ever! Amen.

What is our inheritance?

Walking in our identity as Priests and Kings.

We will only glorify God to the extent that we walk in the freedom, authority and anointing He's given to us.

That is our inheritance. The glory of God. And it's been ours since Calvary.

"But I have raised you up..."

Exodus 9:16... "But I have raised you up for this very purpose, that I might show you my power and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth."

I love reading through scripture that doesn't seem that amazing and then all of a sudden... BAM!! it kind of hits you in the face because its actually so sick! That happened to me with the above passage... its insane and is found hidden amongst the stories of the plagues in Exodus!

What a statement over our lives - that God has raised us up to show us His power and for His name to be proclaimed in all the earth as a result - and what a privilige! We have all seen God's power displayed to us, experienced it first hand and are involved in proclaiming His name in all the earth, but the scripture made me think of all the people who haven't yet walked in what we have because they haven't met Jesus!

This scripture is a statement over their lives as well - they might not know it but we do! It is God's intention that they too will see His power and become people who proclaim His name in all the earth! These people are all around us - they sit next to us and walk past us everyday!

I honestly believe we have a massive inheritance in the schools around our area, in a sense a promised land that God is taking us into and we already are walking in to an extent! It awesome that we are not being like the Israelites and wandering in the desert for 40 years while a land of milk and honey is ready waiting for us but lets walk further! Lets take new ground, open new doors ( and windows - Stu Vivier ) and pour Jesus all over the place!

God has revealed and still is revealing to us our annointing and inheritance as kings and priests, lets pray that he would do that in our school mates as well - that they would catch hold of their true identity that is only found in Jesus!

The ground is ours, we will take it and the Kingdom of God will advance...

The [C.C.P] of COGS Youth is not defined by the [C.C.P] of it's leader or it's leadership team.
The [C.C.P] of COGS Youth equals the sum of the [C.C.P] of every individual that represents this amazing family.

So ask yourself:
1) What has God put inside of me?
2) Is He a God of smallness and insignificance?
3) Is His incomparably great power for me?

Eph 1:19 - His incomparably great power for us who believe, that power is like the working of his mighty strength

Therefore, we can conclude that what God has put inside of you is no small deal.
He has made you a world changer.

Now, begin to think of all the world changers who stand alongside you in COGS Youth and do the maths.

If you bring what you have to the table....
